High Five Lunch - Presenting John Hayes MP
In a survey published by the British Chamber of Commerce of 1,200 businesses with more than 50 employees, over half want to take on more staff by 2015 but are frustrated by a lack of skilled labour in the UK. The BCC also found that’s many firms are unable to find the skilled workers they need in the UK, and that less than a third of businesses (28%) believe that the UK workforce is more skilled than other EU countries.
With this in mind, John Hayes MP, and Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning will be presenting a keynote speech at the Norfolk Chamber’s High Five lunch on Friday 18th May from 12-14:30pm.
In May 2010, John was appointed Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. In addition, in July 2010 he became a Minister of State in the Department for Education with particular responsibility for apprenticeships, careers guidance and vocational education. Join the Norfolk Chamber on the 18 May to learn what he thinks is the way forward for skills and what this means for Norfolk businesses.
Joining John in a Q&A session will be the MP for North West Norfolk, Henry Bellingham, This will allow you the opportunity to question the Minister on the subject of skills and apprenticeships and Henry Bellingham MP on issues for more local to home.
All of the above takes places over a formal sit down lunch, with excellent networking opportunities.
An exclusive Norfolk Chamber event not to be missed.
