Duration: 
1 Year
Entry requirements: 

You will need a minimum of grade C or above in GCSE maths and English or completed the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and basic competency in IT and spreadsheets.

Full Description: 

During the one year course, the following modules will be covered:
• Financial accounting (advanced)
• Recording and analysing costs and revenues
• Operating a cash management and credit control system
• Professional ethics for accounting technicians

These modules will develop your knowledge of financial accounting further and introduce the methods of cost accounting used for management purposes.

After the course: 

After successfully passing this course, you will be able to study for the AAT Diploma in Accountancy but this is offered as part-time evening only. This will enable you to apply for full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians and use the letters MAAT after your name. You will also qualify for exemption from a number of exams leading to the ACCA or CIMA accounting qualifications. You can use the Diploma to gain accelerated entry onto the second year of many accounting/finance degrees (for example at University Centre Peterborough, Lincoln University and De Montfort University in Leicester).
