BTEC National in Music Practice
This advanced course is designed to provide a balanced programme of music performance, music theory and essential elements of music technology. This combination is important; as an understanding of all these elements will help you meet the demands of the music industry, progress in your chosen career and prepare you for further study.
4 GCSEs at grade C or above or other Level 2 qualification preferably at merit. You will also need to come along for an audition before starting this course. You will also need to be available for evening rehearsals and performances throughout the course.

• Listening skills for musicians
• Composing music
• Music performance session
• Styles
• Improvising music
• The functional music keyboard
• Music theory and harmony.
You can progress on to degree courses in music performance related subjects. You may also wish to use this course to move into employment in the music industry, in roles such as performance, publishing, marketing or composition.
