Inspired to Change
To some of us it appears success is granted to the lucky, and that chance always passes us by. Yet looking back through history there are so many examples where success has been achieved by the anybody, not just the somebody. For those people they had the courage, the drive and the dream to make their future theirs. Sometimes it is hard to achieve this just on your own.

Partnership Approach
We approach all our training on a modular basis which means there is flexibility to tailor each session to your class’s needs. We very much work in partnership with the teachers in delivering the material, facilitating the group work and sharing in the success of learning. We supply all the materials used during the sessions and can provide additional equipment if required.

Key learning outcomes
Key learning outcomes are the essential part of any training, and in themselves should ensure that an individual is able to increase their skills and knowledge. Many of our Youth Development learning points take their roots from our First Line Management Development programme. This programme has been developed through years of real managerial experience and addresses some of the gaps that appear as managers step onto the ladder of leadership. By including them in this programme the seed should be sown for all to benefit from, what ever their chosen vocation. We have focused on the following five main key learning outcomes in this programme of training.

Power of Positive Thinking
Projecting yourself
Communicating with others
Working in teams
Creative thinking

Lesson 1—Developing a Product
In this session the Class is split into several smaller groups and asked to develop a product for a Customer. The group will need to use Creative Skills to come up with the ideas, as well as Teamwork and Communication. The group will also need to present back to the class on why their product should be purchased.

Lesson 2—I don’t know Weather I can
Not everyone is confident about speaking in front of others. During this interactive session we will explore some basic techniques in projecting a positive impression of yourself and being able to speak confidently in front of others. The main theme to this session is presenting the Weather back to the group, starting first by looking at the techniques used on TV and why they work.

Lesson 3—Work Experience
In this module the children will have a chance to prepare in groups for an interview for a Work Experience opportunity or a junior role within a company. This will be followed by role-playing a basic interview, before finishing off with a discussion about best techniques in preparing and taking part in a recruitment process.

Lesson 4—The Board Meeting
In this session the children will be given a series of data and a brief to make a presentation to a board of directors. The session specifically focuses on the use of graphical information to present trends of data. During the exercise best practice and useful tips will be filtered through to be incorporated into their final presentation.

Lesson 5—Lunar Products Ltd
This Teamwork exercise contains a number of key learning points including communication, understanding the roles in a team, creative thinking and having a winning attitude. Each group will have the challenge of manufacturing several customer orders in Lego from a predefined set of instructions. In a competitive session each group can accumulate points based on their success with the activity

Lesson 6—A handle on change
It doesn’t matter how old or experienced you are, change is something that everyone feels uncomfortable with to some degree, and yet the world is constantly changing. In this session the children can explore why changes happens and how people react differently to change. A staged approach for managing change will form the lesson plan for this session focusing on each stage of a change process.
